If you were to ask school children of today where to find information about almost anything I am sure the most common answer would be on Google. When I attended school, to find a meaning for a word we would get out the dictionary, and for research projects we would dig through the encyclopaedia and search the library. Long gone are the days of the libraries when now students have a world of information right in front of them on their computers. Google is a tool that does research. It is one of the world’s largest research groups focused primarily on solving search problems. They have stuck to just research as they recognise that they do this well. They acknowledge the fact that the world is increasingly mobile and students want information wherever they are, whenever they need it. Google has made searching and finding information a fast and seamless experience for millions of people. So next time I am looking for new information I will just Google it.
